The Remains of National Arts Theatre Lagos

The Nigerian National Art Theater, Iganmu, Lagos which used to be a centre for arts and cultural events, has been left less functional by new and exquisite halls and event centres all over Lagos State.

Although the art theatre, which was built in 1976 is now known for its less activities, the present federal government administration is trying it's best to retain the face of our monumental national art theatre.

The theatre with its serene atmosphere is still beautified with groomed flowers and trees and parks for relaxation and picnics.

The national gallery for modern arts is still functioning, exhibiting the portraits of eminent persons in the history of Nigeria, such as past head of states, presidents, obas(kings) and others.

Displayed also are creative paintings such as the peacock,  Aje, The protection etc. All these art works were done by great creative Nigerians in the art world. Photographs of the art works could not be taken due to copyright laws to prevent duplicates.

Beside the art theatre, is a row of kiosks with Nigerian Breweries products adverts all over. On each kiosk is boldly written "Shine on," a Star beer slogan. Each kiosk has a shade in front and behind with plastic tables and chairs for customers to sit, eat and drink.

Various kinds of foods are sold there such as assorted pepper soup, point and kill, pounded yam, jollof rice, etc. This place being run by individuals only sells drinks of Nigerian breweries such as star beer, lite beer, Amstel malt etc.
